Almond Butter Banana Toast

This is one of those breakfasts that barely qualifies as a recipe, but it is so good it deserves a spot in the rotation. Good bread, creamy almond butter, sliced banana, and a drizzle of honey come together in about 5 minutes. It is the kind of thing kids and adults both reach for, and it keeps you full all morning.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices thick-cut bread, toasted
  • 3 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1 tbsp Duck River honey
  • Pinch of Ceylon cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp whole black chia seeds
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt

Directions

  1. Toast the bread to your preferred level of crispiness.
  2. Spread a generous layer of almond butter on each slice.
  3. Arrange the banana slices on top.
  4. Drizzle with honey, sprinkle with cinnamon, chia seeds, and a tiny pinch of flaky salt.

Notes

  • Swap the banana for thin apple slices and a sprinkle of apple pie spice in the fall.
  • Add a handful of cacao nibs or medium shredded coconut for extra texture.
