Chamomile Honey Latte

A chamomile latte is one of those drinks that just makes everything feel calmer. The floral, apple-like flavor of chamomile pairs beautifully with warm frothed milk, and a spoonful of honey ties it all together. It is a lovely ritual for evenings when you want something warm and comforting without any caffeine.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp chamomile flowers
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup milk of choice, frothed
  • 1 tbsp Duck River honey
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

*Bolded ingredients are products we typically carry at Tare Bulk Foods.

Directions

  1. Steep the chamomile flowers in 1 cup of hot water for 5 to 7 minutes. The longer you steep, the stronger the flavor.
  2. Strain out the flowers and stir in the honey and vanilla extract while the tea is still hot.
  3. Froth the milk and pour it over the chamomile tea.
  4. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • For an iced version, brew the tea double-strength, cool it down, and pour over ice with cold milk.
  • A sprinkle of Ceylon cinnamon on top adds a nice warm touch.
  • Try adding a pinch of lavender flowers to the steep for a chamomile-lavender latte.
