A chamomile latte is one of those drinks that just makes everything feel calmer. The floral, apple-like flavor of chamomile pairs beautifully with warm frothed milk, and a spoonful of honey ties it all together. It is a lovely ritual for evenings when you want something warm and comforting without any caffeine.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp chamomile flowers
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 cup milk of choice, frothed
- 1 tbsp Duck River honey
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
*Bolded ingredients are products we typically carry at Tare Bulk Foods.
Directions
- Steep the chamomile flowers in 1 cup of hot water for 5 to 7 minutes. The longer you steep, the stronger the flavor.
- Strain out the flowers and stir in the honey and vanilla extract while the tea is still hot.
- Froth the milk and pour it over the chamomile tea.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
Notes
- For an iced version, brew the tea double-strength, cool it down, and pour over ice with cold milk.
- A sprinkle of Ceylon cinnamon on top adds a nice warm touch.
- Try adding a pinch of lavender flowers to the steep for a chamomile-lavender latte.
