Cinnamon Raisin Oatmeal

Some mornings you just want something simple and familiar. This cinnamon raisin oatmeal is that breakfast. Plump raisins, warm cinnamon, and a touch of brown sugar make it feel like a warm hug. It takes less than 10 minutes and never disappoints.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups water
  • ¼ cup thompson raisins
  • 1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp light brown cane sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Pinch of Redmond Real Salt

*Bolded ingredients are products we typically carry at Tare Bulk Foods.

Directions

  1. Bring the water to a boil in a small saucepan. Stir in the oats, raisins, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are soft and the raisins are plump.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the brown sugar and butter.
  4. Serve immediately with a splash of milk if desired.

Notes

  • Swap the raisins for dried cranberries or chopped dried apricots for a different fruit flavor.
  • Top with chopped walnuts or pecan halves for some crunch.
