This is the kind of tea that generations of grandmothers have made when someone's stomach was feeling off. Peppermint is naturally cooling and refreshing, ginger brings gentle warmth, and fennel seed adds a mild sweetness that ties everything together. It is a simple combination that really works.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp peppermint leaves
- 1 tsp ginger root
- 1 tsp fennel seed
- 2 cups boiling water
*Bolded ingredients are products we typically carry at Tare Bulk Foods.
Directions
- Lightly crush the fennel seeds with the back of a spoon to release their oils.
- Place all herbs in a tea infuser or teapot and pour the boiling water over them.
- Cover and steep for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Strain and enjoy warm, ideally after a meal.
Notes
- This tea is naturally caffeine-free and safe to drink any time of day.
- For extra soothing power, add a small piece of licorice root to the blend.
- Brew it iced in the summer by steeping a double-strength batch and pouring over ice.
