Elderberry Ginger Wellness Shots

These concentrated wellness shots pack immune-supporting ingredients into a small, powerful dose perfect for cold season or daily health maintenance. The combination of elderberries and ginger creates a warming, slightly spicy shot that's both medicinal and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup elderberries
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 inch fresh ginger root, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup Duck River honey
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • Pinch of black pepper

Directions

  1. Combine elderberries, water, and sliced ginger root in a small saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes until berries burst and liquid reduces by half.
  3. Strain mixture through fine mesh strainer, pressing solids to extract all liquid.
  4. While still warm, whisk in Duck River honey, lemon juice, turmeric, and black pepper until dissolved.
  5. Pour into small shot glasses or store in refrigerator in airtight container.
  6. Take 1-2 tablespoon shots daily for wellness support.

Notes

  • Store shots in refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • Add echinacea root to the simmering mixture for additional immune support.
  • Double the recipe and freeze in ice cube trays for convenient portions.
  • Adjust Duck River honey to taste, as elderberries can be quite tart.
