Elderberry Ginger Wellness Syrup

This traditional wellness syrup combines immune-supporting elderberries with warming ginger and spices. Keep a bottle on hand during cold season for daily immune support or at the first sign of seasonal challenges.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Elderberries
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons fresh Ginger Root, sliced
  • 1 Cinnamon Sticks (Korintje)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cloves (Whole)
  • 1/2 cup Duck River Honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Directions

  1. Combine elderberries, water, ginger, cinnamon stick, and cloves in a medium saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 20-25 minutes until liquid reduces by half.
  3. Strain mixture through fine mesh strainer, pressing solids to extract liquid. Discard solids.
  4. Let liquid cool to lukewarm, then stir in honey and lemon juice until well combined.
  5. Pour into clean glass jar and refrigerate. Take 1-2 teaspoons daily for immune support.

Notes

  • Store in refrigerator for up to 6 weeks.
  • Add Echinacea Root during simmering for extra immune support.
  • Use TN Maple Syrup instead of honey if preferred.
  • Do not give honey-containing remedies to children under 1 year.
