This traditional wellness syrup combines immune-supporting elderberries with warming ginger and spices. Keep a bottle on hand during cold season for daily immune support or at the first sign of seasonal challenges.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Elderberries
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons fresh Ginger Root, sliced
- 1 Cinnamon Sticks (Korintje)
- 1/4 teaspoon Cloves (Whole)
- 1/2 cup Duck River Honey
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Directions
- Combine elderberries, water, ginger, cinnamon stick, and cloves in a medium saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 20-25 minutes until liquid reduces by half.
- Strain mixture through fine mesh strainer, pressing solids to extract liquid. Discard solids.
- Let liquid cool to lukewarm, then stir in honey and lemon juice until well combined.
- Pour into clean glass jar and refrigerate. Take 1-2 teaspoons daily for immune support.
Notes
- Store in refrigerator for up to 6 weeks.
- Add Echinacea Root during simmering for extra immune support.
- Use TN Maple Syrup instead of honey if preferred.
- Do not give honey-containing remedies to children under 1 year.
