Iced Earl Grey Latte

An iced Earl Grey latte, sometimes called a London Fog, is one of those drinks that sounds fancy but comes together in minutes. The bergamot in Earl Grey gives it a floral, citrusy quality that pairs beautifully with creamy milk and a touch of maple sweetness. It is an ideal afternoon pick-me-up.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Earl Grey black tea
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 tbsp TN maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • Ice

*Bolded ingredients are products we typically carry at Tare Bulk Foods.

Directions

  1. Steep the Earl Grey tea in 1 cup of hot water for 5 minutes. Strain and discard the leaves.
  2. While the tea is still warm, stir in the maple syrup and vanilla extract until dissolved.
  3. Let the tea cool slightly, then pour over a tall glass filled with ice.
  4. Top with cold milk, stir gently, and enjoy.

Notes

  • For a hot London Fog, skip the ice. Heat and froth the milk, then pour over the sweetened tea.
  • Swap the Earl Grey black tea for English breakfast black tea for a bolder, maltier version.
  • A pinch of lavender flowers steeped with the tea adds a floral touch.
