An iced Earl Grey latte, sometimes called a London Fog, is one of those drinks that sounds fancy but comes together in minutes. The bergamot in Earl Grey gives it a floral, citrusy quality that pairs beautifully with creamy milk and a touch of maple sweetness. It is an ideal afternoon pick-me-up.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Earl Grey black tea
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 tbsp TN maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk of choice
- Ice
*Bolded ingredients are products we typically carry at Tare Bulk Foods.
Directions
- Steep the Earl Grey tea in 1 cup of hot water for 5 minutes. Strain and discard the leaves.
- While the tea is still warm, stir in the maple syrup and vanilla extract until dissolved.
- Let the tea cool slightly, then pour over a tall glass filled with ice.
- Top with cold milk, stir gently, and enjoy.
Notes
- For a hot London Fog, skip the ice. Heat and froth the milk, then pour over the sweetened tea.
- Swap the Earl Grey black tea for English breakfast black tea for a bolder, maltier version.
- A pinch of lavender flowers steeped with the tea adds a floral touch.
