This tea brings together three herbs that are traditionally valued for their mineral content, particularly iron. Nettle leaf and dandelion leaf are both naturally rich in iron, and red raspberry leaf adds additional minerals along with a mild, pleasant flavor. It is a simple, affordable way to support your daily mineral intake through something you already enjoy doing: drinking tea.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp nettle leaf
- 1 tsp dandelion leaf flakes
- 1 tsp red raspberry leaves
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 to 2 tsp Duck River honey
*Bolded ingredients are products we typically carry at Tare Bulk Foods.
Directions
- Place the nettle leaf, dandelion leaf flakes, and red raspberry leaves in a tea infuser or teapot.
- Pour the boiling water over the herbs and cover.
- Steep for 15 to 20 minutes. A longer steep extracts more minerals.
- Strain and stir in honey to taste.
Notes
- For even higher mineral extraction, steep this blend for 4 hours or overnight using the nourishing infusion method.
- Adding a squeeze of lemon provides vitamin C, which helps your body absorb plant-based iron.
- This tea is caffeine-free and safe to drink 2 to 3 cups per day.
