This smoothie bowl is sunshine in a bowl. Frozen mango gives it a thick, creamy texture while turmeric and ginger add warmth and anti-inflammatory benefits. It comes together in about 5 minutes and the toppings are where you get to have fun. Load it up with granola, coconut, seeds, and fresh fruit.
Ingredients
- 2 cups frozen mango chunks
- 1 ripe banana
- ½ cup coconut milk
- ½ tsp turmeric
- ¼ tsp ginger
- Pinch of black pepper
- 1 tbsp Duck River honey
- Toppings: medium shredded coconut, whole black chia seeds, goji berries, sliced banana
*Bolded ingredients are products we typically carry at Tare Bulk Foods.
Directions
- Add the frozen mango, banana, coconut milk, turmeric, ginger, black pepper, and honey to a blender.
- Blend until thick and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed. You want it thicker than a regular smoothie so it holds the toppings.
- Pour into a bowl and arrange your toppings: shredded coconut, chia seeds, goji berries, and sliced banana.
- Eat immediately with a spoon.
Notes
- The banana should be ripe but not frozen, as too much frozen fruit makes the bowl too hard to blend.
- Add a scoop of maca powder for extra energy and a butterscotch-like flavor.
