Matcha White Chocolate Cookies

These striking green cookies combine the earthy complexity of matcha with creamy white chocolate for a sophisticated treat. The beautiful green color and unique flavor make them perfect for tea time or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unbleached all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons matcha green tea
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Redmond Real Salt
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup cane sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually mix in flour mixture until just combined, then fold in white chocolate chips.
  5. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets and bake 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers still look soft.

Notes

  • Sift matcha green tea before measuring to prevent lumps
  • Don't overbake - cookies will continue cooking on the hot pan
  • Store in airtight container for up to one week
