Sleep Tea Blend

If your mind tends to race at bedtime, this tea blend is a gentle way to signal to your body that it is time to slow down. Chamomile and lavender bring a soft, floral sweetness, while valerian root and passionflower add earthy depth. It is the kind of cup that pairs perfectly with a quiet evening routine.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp chamomile flowers
  • 1 tsp valerian root
  • 1 tsp passionflower
  • ½ tsp lavender flowers
  • 2 cups boiling water

Directions

  1. Combine the chamomile, valerian root, passionflower, and lavender in a tea infuser or teapot.
  2. Pour the boiling water over the herbs and cover.
  3. Steep for 10 to 15 minutes. Valerian root benefits from a longer steep.
  4. Strain and sip about 30 minutes before bedtime.

Notes

  • Valerian root has a strong, earthy smell that mellows significantly when blended with the other herbs.
  • Add a small spoonful of Duck River honey if you prefer a sweeter cup.
  • Mix a larger batch of the dry blend and store in an airtight jar for easy nightly use.
