This refresher is light, fruity, and perfect for when you want something more interesting than water but not as heavy as a smoothie. Strawberry green tea has a naturally sweet berry flavor that tastes incredible over ice. A small amount of honey and a squeeze of lime bring out the fruit notes even more.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp strawberry green tea
- 2 cups hot water (175 degrees, not boiling)
- 1 tbsp Duck River honey
- Squeeze of fresh lime juice
- Fresh strawberries, sliced (optional garnish)
- Ice
*Bolded ingredients are products we typically carry at Tare Bulk Foods.
Directions
- Heat water to about 175 degrees. Pour over the strawberry green tea and steep for 3 minutes.
- Strain out the tea leaves and stir in the honey while the tea is still warm.
- Let cool to room temperature, then add the lime juice.
- Pour over a tall glass of ice, garnish with fresh strawberry slices if desired, and enjoy.
Notes
- For a cold-brew version, steep the tea in cold water in the fridge for 6 to 8 hours. The flavor is even smoother.
- Add a few fresh mint leaves or basil leaves for an herbal twist.
- Try raspberry green tea for a different berry flavor.
