We're looking for a Bintender to work with us at our Dickson TN store.
(If you're wondering, "what the heck is a bintender", don't worry, we'll get there)
* Pay: $20+/Hour
* Schedule: Consistent weekday core hours + some rotating weekend hours
* Perks: Purpose-driven work, employee discounts, & monthly bonuses.
Well, first off, it's a word we made up :)
A bintender isn't a cashier, you're the steward of the store.
You're part grocer, part guide, part host. You're helping people shop slower, eat better, waste less, and feel welcome while doing it.
If you like meaningful work, clean food, and being useful to real humans in the community, you'll probably love this role.
If you're just trying to clock in and out to get a paycheck, no need to apply.
The gist is that you'll be cleaning, restocking, and helping customers, but it's about so much more.
Customer Experience
* Greet every guest like they matter (they do)
* Help customers navigate bulk bins, refills, and unfamiliar ingredients
* Answer basic questions about products, sourcing, and use (we train you)
* Keep the store calm, clean, and human (not rushed/transactional)
Operations
* Scoop, weigh, label, and refill bulk products
* Maintain clean, organized, well-faced shelves and bins
* Open and/or close the store confidently and independently
* Handle POS transactions accurately
* Follow SOPs (and help improve them)
Culture & Standards
* Take pride in how the store looks and feels
* Show up on time and ready to work
* Treat teammates with respect
* Care about doing things the right way, not the fast way
You might be a great fit if you:
* Like people and don't fake it
* Care about food quality, sustainability, or intentional living
* Enjoy hands-on work and staying busy
* Value consistency, ownership, and responsibility
* Want a job that feels like it means something
You do not need:
* Grocery or retail experience (we can teach skills)
* To be a nutrition expert or chef
* To have everything figured out (we definitely don't)
You do need:
* Reliability
* Curiosity
* A good attitude
* Willingness to learn
* Bonus points if you're ambitious (we will have lots of stores one day)
* $20+/hour, depending on experience
* 30-40 hours/week
* Employee discounts on store products
* Monthly performance bonuses (when the store wins, you win)
* We truly want this to be the best place you've ever worked in your life
Tare exists to bring grocery shopping back to the basics: clean food, less waste, real humans, and a slower, more soulful way of doing things.
If that resonates, we'd love for you to email us (mitchell@tarebulkfoods.com) your resume with a cover letter answering these 3 questions:
1. What's something you take pride in that most people wouldn't even notice?
2. What's something you notice immediately that tells you whether a place is being run well or not?
3. What do you do when you care about the quality of something more than the people around you seem to?
